OUR PEOPLE
Lighthouse Health & Safety is owned and operated by Andrew Chandran, a career veteran with over 25 years of experience in the mining, petroleum and renewable energy industries in Australia, United Kingdom (UK), United States of America (USA), South Korea, China, South-East Asia and the Middle East.

Andrew's experience extends across the full lifecycle of Asset and Project Development, having previously worked for several Tier 1 global mining and petroleum operators, engineering service providers (ESP) and construction contractors. However, he is best known in Australia for his profound regulatory contributions in Occupational Health & Hygiene, whilst working for the Commonwealth offshore petroleum Safety Authority.

Andrew is a Chartered OHS Professional (ChOHSP) with Platinum Certification in Operational Capability in Safety (OCSS-P). He is highly-regarded as a leading WHS educator, influencer and developer of industry-defining initiatives, including Hands-Off for Safety Training, The Right Way to Wellbeing, Common Ground and LHS Podcast.

Andrew has previously served on multiple prestigious national tripartite working groups, including the ASCC's Noise Technical Group, NOPSA's Accommodation Standards Working Group, DRET's Asbestos Importation Committee and the Wellness in Infrastructure Working Group. Currently, he is serving as a Technical Committee Member for Standards Australia and Director of Professional Capability with the International Institute of Operational Capability in Safety (IIOCS).​
​
He holds a Master of Business Administration (Oil and Gas major), Post-Graduate Diploma in OH&S and a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry and Pharmacology double-major).
